Communication is the essence of human connection

We are currently living in a day and age where social isolation has become the norm. Be it the teenager who struggles to start a conversation in person to the senior whose hearing has made phone calls harder, the divides have grown. Yet people still want to be recognized for the unique ways that they stand out while also being welcomed for the ways in which they fit in. The foundation upon which the solution to these monumental tasks rest is communication. I believe as professionals within this field we are uniquely positioned to bridge the gaps. Through research we can listen, through evaluation we can understand, and through communication we can connect.
